CASTROL MAGNA SW B

The CASTROL Magna SW B are premium slideway lubricants for machine tools.  They are based on highly refined mineral oils and additives to give controlled frictional characteristics in guideway sliding conditions.  The benefits of the above mentioned excellent frictional characteristics are high adhesivity and high film strength so that they can be used in conditions of high loads and slow sliding speeds on both vertical and horizontal guideways.  The advantages of using MAGNA SW B compared to conventional oils are accurate sliding movement leading to enhanced work piece surface finish, excellent protection of slideways for maximum service life of machinery, good wash off characteristics and good compatibility with known constructions materials of slideways.  In addition, they can be used for lead screw and nut systems, gears of feed mechanisms and oil lubricated milling heads.

CASTROL MAGNA SW D

The CASTROL Magna SW D is specially formulated for the lubrication of slideways on machine tools.  It is based on powerful extreme pressure and lubricity additives in highly refined mineral oil offering constant glide behavior, excellent adhesion, wear and corrosion protection, as well as ageing resistance.  It can be used in both horizontal and vertical slideways where a high quality demulsifying lubricant is required for slideway protection and to maximize coolant life.  The range CASTROL of Magna SW D is noted for it's usual ability to overcome the stick-slip motion ordinarily associated with slow moving tool parts.  They reduce machine tool carriage chatter and possess the necessary adhesive characteristics to prevent squeezing out of the lubricant.  Moreover, it is especially suitable for plastic coated guideways since possible swelling of the plastics won't occur.

CASTROL OPTIGEAR BM

CASTROL Optigear BM is a range of high-performance extreme pressure gear oils, developed to tackle wear-related problems in heavily loaded industrial gears and bearings. The smoothed surface delivers optimum wear protection and an extremely low coefficient of friction, especially in applications which experience extreme pressure, shock loads and vibrations.  Compared to conventional non PD oils, the use of CASTROL Optigear BM in tests has shown a reduction in the coefficient of friction up to 60% which can delivery energy savings, lower lubricant and component temperatures and improve operational efficiency.  In laboratory tests, the PD additives were shown to prevent the progression of micro-pitting in pre-damaged gears where on PD oils showed existing wear levels increased up to 3 times.  Smoothing existing gear damage reduces the cost of repairs and replacements, thus improving operating efficiency by increasing equipment reliability.
